Orange mobile - 2.2/2.3 Tethering / Wi-Fi hotspot fix

Orange customers will be aware of the never ending issues with their faulty Tethering/Wi-Fi hotspot. This fix is fully working on 2.2 and 2.3. If it does not work for you then you did it wrong!

Step 1:
Open your main menu, select "Settings" next select "Wireless and networks" next "Mobile networks" finally select "Access point names".

Step 2:
You should see a list of 3 things;
  • Orange Internet
  • Consumer Broadband
  • Orange MMS

Select "Consumer Broadband" and you now have a long list, don't worry, you don't need to understand it all. Now you will make changes to some options, only the options below should be changed! Make sure to capitalize as has been done below too.

  1. Click APN and change it from "consumerbroadband" to "orangeinternet"
  2. Click Username and change it from <Not set> to "Orange"
  3. Click Password and change it from <Not set> to "Multimedia"
  4. Check Authentication type is "CHAP"
  5. Press your menu button and click save!

Step 3:
Now enable your Wi-Fi hotspot and that's it! Any problems? Post a comment!
